So, if you’re like me, and in this instance I hope you’re not (!!), you’re recovering from a cold, the flu or something certainly not Covid. It seems like the whole world has awaken to the ordinary cold. Myself, I’ve been suffering with viral conjunctivitis in my eyes. Two red eyes like I can’t remember I’ve EVER had. And it’s not something that clears up quickly. AND, turns out it can be contagious, so I spent the long New Year’s Eve weekend isolated at home. BORING!! Need I say how eager I was to return to the office?!!!

And return I did, my eyes almost cleared up…. just in time for this issue’s impending deadline. Hey! NOTHING comes between me and my deadline!!

We have some great “stuff” in this issue. We’re helping you get ready for the BIG GAME and Valentine’s Day. They may be in February, but February is right around the corner. Order in or go out, check out the eateries prepared with real game fare. And remember to make your reservations for an evening of delicious romance.

I visited a local spot in Willow Grove, Albertino’s Bistro. Out & About has the full story. The food is delicious and the ambiance is real South Philly. I believe Goni, the owner chef, might be doing something special for Valentine’s Day. Regardless, Albertino’s is worth considering any day of the week. Details on page 6.

Our recipes this month offer a nod to your Big Game table. Check them out and see if they make a touchdown!! Turn to page 22 and get “In the Kitchen.”

Bristol Riverside Theatre is one of our area’s real theatrical gems. They’re preparing for two special productions in February; Beatlemania and My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish & I’m in Therapy. Go on opening night and you might be privy to meeting the cast over dessert, etc. When you make your ticket reservation, check out the programs associated with certain evening performances. They’re really fun and it’s a neat way of circulating among like-minded theater buffs. Turn our pages and find out more about February performances at the Bristol Riverside Theater.

And yes, as I always say, “There’s more!” Carl LaVo takes us to “The Park That Never Was… in Wrightstown.” Find out more on page 18. And there’s a great puzzle on page 16. “To Your health!” couldn’t come at a better time. So, find a comfy spot and think “healthy.” Happy reading, and again happy new year…. may it bring us good health, good memories and CALM! See you in February.
