It looks like the corner of York Road and County Line in Warminster has finally found a forever restaurant. !!!

Break Time Diner & Restaurant may just have found the formula for a successful eatery the area has been looking for.

I visited this diner with my friend, Theresa, and was deliciously satisfied in more ways than one. This evening, we arrived in time to enjoy their Early Bird Special. It was a hard choice to make! Their menu is extensive with daily specials, larger and smaller portion entrees available, open faced sandwiches, wraps and more. And, of course, the proverbial diner special: breakfast anytime!

As we sat down, and the tables were filling up, I noticed a wide variety of meals being delivered. Each platter looked more appealing than the next. A hefty breakfast platter with eggs, bread, potatoes, a hunk of a hamburger with all the toppings, a fish entrée piping hot, meals were delivered promptly and with a smile.

How nice it was to be greeted at the door and led to our table, with a smile! Water and drink orders were taken almost immediately. The daily specials were shared and then we were given time, at our leisure, to review the menu and decide on our meal. No rushing here.

I ordered the Chopped Steak platter with onions and gravy, baked potato and salad on the side. Theresa ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with choice of pasta and chicken soup. Our meals were delivered quickly… heaping portions for each of us. We both agreed we were set for lunch the next day.

My chopped steak was dense and well prepared. Theresa commented her chicken parm was real chicken and not some manufactured filet. She also liked her soup. Not too salty and not real “thin” as some chicken soups can be.

It didn’t take long for us to agree we couldn’t eat any more, until, of course, the waitress asked us about dessert!! Hey, what’s a special meal without dessert?!?! Theresa ordered the rice pudding, and naturally, I ordered the chocolate cake. The rice pudding hit the spot. Theresa was one happy camper! She asked if they serve tapioca and got a resounding, YES! That’s her dessert on her next visit. My chocolate cake was part mousse and part cake. I wish I had a cold glass of milk to go along with it. In our house, when our son was growing up, milk always made the chocolate taste better!!! LOL! I’ll be honest, this time around, the lack of milk didn’t stop me from enjoying this sweet ending!!

I’d be remiss if I didn’t say this place was immaculate. And the bathrooms were spotless. I mentioned the same to the manager, Bill, and he responded that the state of a restaurant’s bathrooms say a lot about the food being served. And he is SO RIGHT!! Customer attention is at its best at Break Time. Diners will not get lost in the shuffle. Prices are moderate, comparable to like establishments.

Recently, I met a neighbor who had just dined at Break Time. I think she said it all… with a smile. “It’s so nice to have a restaurant like this so nearby. The food was great and the service even better. Can’t wait to go back!”

So, if you’re seeking to find a “dining room” away from home, you might check out Break Time Diner & Restaurant. Conveniently located with ample parking, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. And yes, on the weekends they’re open til 11pm. Enjoy!

I stopped by this newest creation to come out of Altomonte’s, the iconic market serving Bucks & Montgomery county. Bright and open, your eyes will be dazzled by display cases filled with beautiful Italian pastries, hefty looking pizzas/focaccia and ready-to-go sandwiches.
Our office sampled some “slices” and voted unanimously they could be repeat offenders. That means we could re-order these specialties, again…. and the sooner the better. You can enjoy these slices warm or cold, whatever your preference. Some come with just tomato sauce and cheese. Others have toppings. Interestingly, there was one pie, I guess you’d call it a dessert slice/ focaccia…. It had a chocolate topping that made this slice the perfect accompaniment for your morning coffee.

And speaking of coffee, they have quite a set up for specialty drinks like espresso and Italian hot chocolate to go with your specialty foods. Good news is, there is plenty of staff to help you through your ordering….

Bright, open and welcoming, Alto is a good place to get that urban taste of Italian caffe fare right here in Warminster. Conveniently located on Street Road, with plenty of parking, it might be just the thing for that morning meeting taking you back into your office. Buon Appetito!

Coyle’s Richboro Music is a center of all things music in our area. Upon entering, you’ll be overwhelmed by the guitars on the walls. It’s like a museum to that wonderful instrument, only it’s NOT A MUSEUM. It’s a place where the guitars are alive, touched, removed from the walls and played. Their display reflects the love the owners have for these instruments. Of course, there are other instruments and accessories that travel through Coyle’s, but it’s those walls one sees when walking through the front doors that grab you.

Richboro Music has served our community for a long time. They sell new and used instruments, sheet music, repair, and offer lessons. During this visit, I saw two or three of the eleven individual practice rooms being used. Clearly soundproof, I couldn’t hear anything but was able to witness the attention between teacher and student. I commented to the gentleman at the front table that the only thing missing is a recording studio…. I’m thinking that might be coming in the future!!

Through the grapevine, I understand the teachers, and they have fourteen, are terrific at Richboro Music. Perhaps because these are real musicians involved in making real music in our area. And they’re communicating this love of music to their students. What could be better?!

So, if you’re youngish or oldish and you’re looking to step into the world of music, check out Coyle’s Richboro Music. They’re sure to help you find your way regardless your instrument… There’s always music in the air!
