Yum! It’s that time…. Smoothie Time! Whether you’re tethered to a small drinking container or one of those 40oz. monsters, these are the drinks that will keep you refreshed and satisfied. And they’re good for you. P.S. I have a friend who ads nutritional powder to them to make them even more “good for you.” So stay hydrated and enjoy. It’s Smoothie Time in the Summer Time!!


Classic Smoothie

1 C. orange juice
1 C. hulled, quartered fresh strawberries, frozen
2 fresh bananas, frozen & sliced

Pour orange juice into blender. Add strawberries & bananas. Blend until smooth. Serves 2.


Coconut & Apricot

¾ C. apricot nectar
½ C. light coconut milk
2 C. diced fresh apricots, frozen
1 fresh banana, frozen & sliced

Combine nectar & coconut milk in blender. Add apricots & banana. Blend until smooth. Serves 2.


Tropical Smoothie

1 ½ C. orange juice
2 C. diced fresh nectarines, frozen
1 C. peeled, diced fresh mango, frozen

Pour juice into blender. Add nectarines & mango. Blend until smooth. Serves 2.


Blueberry Blue

1 C. lowfat blueberry yogurt
¾ C. lowfat milk
1 Tbsp. maple syrup
½ tsp. cinnamon
2 c. fresh blueberries, frozen

Combine yogurt, milk, syrup & cinnamon in blender. Add the blueberries and blend until smooth. Serves 2.


Honey Dew Do

21/2 C. diced fresh honeydew melon
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh mint
Pinch of salt
½ C. ginger ale
6 ice cubes

Place all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth. Serves 2.


Watermelon Delight

11/2 C. diced, seeded watermelon
¾ C. lemon sorbet
8 ice cubes
1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
Pinch of salt

Place all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth. Serves 2.


Cran-Zania

11/4 C. cranberry juice
½ C. raspberry sorbet
1 Tbsp. orange juice concentrate
11/2 C. fresh orange segments, frozen
½ C. fresh cranberries, frozen

Combine cranberry juice sorbet, and orange juice concentrate in blender. Add orange segments & cranberries. Blend until smooth. Serves 2.


Almond Joy O’Boy!

1 C. light coconut milk
11/2 C. chocolate sorbet
2 fresh bananas, frozen and sliced
2 Tbsp. grated coconut
1 tsp. coconut extract
¾ tsp. almond extract

Combine coconut milk and sorbet in blender. Add the bananas, coconut, coconut extract and almond extract. Blend until smooth. Serves 2.


Cookies and Cream

11/2 C. nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt
½ C. nonfat milk
2 fresh bananas, frozen & sliced

1 C. crumbled chocolate sandwich cookies

Combine frozen yogurt and milk in blender. Add bananas and blend until smooth. Add cookies and blend until mixed. Serves 2.


3/4 C. nonfat milk
¾ nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt
1/3 C. creamy peanut butter
2 fresh frozen bananas, frozen & sliced

Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.


Kahlua Bound

11/2 C. nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt
½ C. orange juice
¼ C. Kahlua
11/2 C. fresh orange segments, frozen
¼ C. chocolate chips
2 Tbsp. frozen orange concentrate
3 to 5 ice cubes

Place the frozen yogurt, orange juice, and Kahlua in blender. Add the orange segments, chocolate chips, and orange concentrate. Blend until smooth. With the blender running, add the ice cubes one at a time until they are incorporated and the desired consistency is reached. Serves 2.
